Delta Dolphins Swim Team and Dolfuns learn to swim program – 2017 Information
FEE: $65 for the first child, $45 for the second, $40.00 for the third, total family registration fees not to exceed $160. The Dolfuns program will have a fee of $75 with no family discount. There is an additional $10 fee for a single swimmer or $20 family fee for Village nonresidents. Refunds for first time participants may be issued within the first week of the season with Board Approval. Conditions Apply.
SWIM PRACTICE: Swim practice Monday –Friday mornings beginning at 8am, evenings TBD. Swimmers will be placed in groups after evaluation and will be informed of their practice time. Evening practices will only be offered to swim team members. The Dolfuns swim program will practice Mon.-Fri mornings. Dolfuns will not practice on the Tues. meet days. Once a Dolfuns swimmer is able to swim the length of the pool without assistance they may be placed into a different group, swim at a different time, and become eligible to swim at meets. There will be a fee of $10 for a Dolfuns swimmer who graduates and wishes to participate on the team. If a swimmer on the team progresses at a faster pace than the group they were originally placed in, they may be asked to swim at a different time. This is done at the coach’s discretion in order to assure that practice sessions are safe and that each swimmer gets the most out of practice. We will practice in the rain. Attendance at every practice is not mandatory, but please keep in mind that the coaches may consider attendance when placing swimmers in the meet line-up. The more practices your child attends the more they will get out of the program.
MEET DATES: See Meet Info Page
Meets canceled for any reason will be made up on the Thursday of that same week. A swimmer must swim in at least 2 meets to be eligible to swim in Championships. Parents are responsible for the transportation and supervision at meets. If you can’t take your child, perhaps a grandparent could. Coaches and parents are extremely busy and cannot be expected to monitor your child or get them to their swimming events.
MANDATORY PARENTAL HELP: Adult help at meets is mandatory. Your child will not swim at the meet if you are not helping to make the meet happen. If you are not able to help for whatever reason, please find another adult to help out in your place. Even first time swim parents can run a stop watch.
AWARDS: Swimmers compete in groups broken down into boys and girls and then into age groups. Ribbons are awarded for the 1st -6th place in each event. Medals and ribbons are awarded at Championships.
AWARDS BANQUET: TBA Each swimmer receives an award for participation. Additional recognition is given to record breakers, most improved, and most valuable swimmers in each age group.
SWIM SUITS & T-SHIRTS: We would like each member of the swim team to purchase a team suit, however this is not mandatory. Information on the team suit will be provided at or after the first parents meeting.
PICTURES: Team pictures, date to be determined. We’d like all swimmers to take part in the picture.
FUNDRAISER: Team fundraisers are important. The money raised is used for our banquet and pays for gifts, awards and food. All families who do not participate in the fundraiser will be assessed a cost to attend the banquet.
FORMS & FEES: Please turn in your forms and fees as soon as possible. We need to know how many swimmers we have as well as their ages to determine our need for additional coaches. You may contact Ann Latscha at 419-350-9673 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
